CCM Health is launching neonatal virtual care services through a partnership with Children\u2019s Minnesota\u2019s neonatology program<\/a>. Through the telehealth partnership, CCM Health will now have 24\/7 access to Children\u2019s Minnesota\u2019s Level IV neonatal expertise, the highest designation by the American Academy of Pediatrics<\/a>. Children\u2019s Minnesota neonatology program has been ranked among the top in the country by U.S. News and World Report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are excited to be adding neonatal virtual care services\nto our already robust obstetrics program in Montevideo, Minnesota. By providing\nthis level of care for patients and families in our region, we continue working\ntowards CCM Health\u2019s mission of providing a lifetime of quality, personalized\ncare,\u201d shared Amy Pederson, Perinatal Services Supervisor at CCM Health. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis truly allows us to provide the highest quality, specialized care to our newborns when needed,\u201d said Dr. Nick Taurinskas<\/a>, family practice<\/a> and obstetrics<\/a> physician at CCM Health. \u201cThis partnership provides CCM Health and our families with the ability to more easily connect with expertly-trained physicians, so we can continue to better serve our patients right here in the Montevideo area.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Virtual care continues to transform the ability of\nphysicians to collaborate, enabling expertise to be exported across systems and\noften allowing babies to be cared for closer to home. Through this partnership,\nphysicians can engage in a virtual consultation using audio and video\ntechnology with a neonatal clinician from Children\u2019s Minnesota. Within minutes,\nclinicians from both systems can then consult on the care management of the\nnewborn requiring acute evaluation and stabilization after birth, determine if\nthe newborn needs transport and, if so, rapidly deploy the transport team to\nget the newborn to an advanced center for further care. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
